Entering treatment without the right diagnosis can be a costly guessing game.  Well-intentioned parents and individuals try to get a hold on issues ranging from family conflict to learning disabilities by trying out different practicioners and/or approaches.  Some people are lucky and get their needs met.  Others enter into months, or even years, of trying out different therapists, tutors, medications, or treatments – each time becoming more and more disappointed that they have not made progress or created lasting change.

Psychoeducational assessment is designed to get at important diagnostic information to reduce and eliminate the trial and error approach to treatment.  By testing in different functional areas, including cognitive, academic, and emotional, an informed diagnosis can be made.  The correct diagnosis can lead children, adolescents, and their families down the shortest path to the most effective treatment options.
